About Canavan-Byrne & Associates
One of the vital services the company is providing is a portfolio of online training courses in the areas of fire safety, food safety, manual handling and many more. Although the courses are purchased online, the process of setting up users on the online content delivery platform was entirely manual, quite complicated and extremely time-consuming.
It would take around 15 minutes to set up a single user with a new account, assign online course or courses this user purchased and send them an email with instructions how to access to the content they bought. On average, the company is selling 300 online courses a month. It means the staff was spending 75 person-hours per month, manually processing online courses sales. On an annual scale, it accumulated to 900 person-hours.
A large number of courses was purchased during the weekend, meaning much of the work had to be done outside business hours, and very often by senior staff (business owners). The customer estimated the total business cost of this work at €18,000 per year.
GRIP has engaged with all stakeholders, including the website & e-commerce and the online content delivery platform providers to design a software solution, which enabled complete automation of the current process.
The solution GRIP delivered, automated entirely the process of setting up the new users, activating their accounts and assigning purchased courses to their account. The software notifies new customers about their account activation and access to purchased courses automatically.
Once a customer purchases a course, there is no need for any manual intervention. There is no need to monitor online course sales, to manually activate customer accounts and enable them access to the courses they purchased in a timely matter.
The software solution designed and developed by GRIP resulted in the complete elimination of the manual workload and the necessity to monitor systems outside of business hours (and weekends). It enabled the staff to focus on other critical aspects of the business.
